Central Pa. man arrested after shooting rifle at vehicle

A 31-year-old man was arrested and charged with attempted murder and related charges after using a riffle to shoot into someone’s vehicle Sunday afternoon, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

William Harris, of Perry County, was charged with four counts of attempted homicide, aggravated assault, recklessly endangering another person, and one count of possession of firearm prohibited, according to online court documents.

Man, woman found dead after shooting in central Pa. hom

A man and woman were found dead early Wednesday morning after a shooting in a Lancaster County home, police said.

The pair, whose identities haven’t been released as of Wednesday morning, were found dead around 4:05 a.m. in a home on the 300 block of Sun Hill Road in Penn Township, according to Northern Lancaster County Regional police.

Armed man shot by police during central Pa. standoff has died

An armed man who was shot after firing at three Lancaster police officers during a November confrontation in the city has died, prosecutors announced on Wednesday.

Attempted homicide and aggravated assault charges filed against William Oneill, 40, were dropped after he died Tuesday night from injuries connected to the Nov. 29 shooting on the 100 block of Hershey Avenue.

Central Pa. man charged after fatal shooting: state police

York County man is charged with first-degree murder and related offenses after state police in Lancaster County say he shot another man several times with a pistol, ultimately leading to his death.

Pennsylvania State Police were sent to the 60 block of Main Street in Providence Township, Lancaster County around 11:20 p.m. Monday for a reported homicide, according to a press release.

Killer chased man through central Pa. convenience store, fired fatal shot over shelves

A jury convicted a 22-year-old Lancaster man Wednesday in connection to a fatal shooting at a central Pennsylvania convenience store in 2022.

The shooting – which killed 19-year-old Damian Santiago – took place inside the Sunoco/A-Plus on the 100 block of W. Orange Street on March 14, 2022, the DA’s office says.

Arrest made in airport parking garage shooting that killed Philadelphia officer

One man has been arrested and at least two other people are being sought in an airport parking garage shooting that killed a Philadelphia police officer and injured another last week, authorities said.

Yobranny Martinez Fernandez, 18, of Camden County, New Jersey, was arrested before dawn Monday in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, and was being held in that state on a fugitive warrant.

One person was killed and eight were wounded in a shooting during a private party at a Pennsylvania community center early Sunday, authorities said.

State police in Indiana County said troopers, local officers and emergency services responded at 12:35 a.m. Sunday to the shooting at the Chevy Chase Community Center in White Township, about 50 miles (80 kilometers) northeast of Pittsburgh.

1 trooper killed, 1 critically wounded in central Pennsylvania

Officials are expressing shock and sadness at the death of one state trooper and the critical wounding of another hours apart in central Pennsylvania over the weekend.

Police in Juniata County said a man engaged troopers at about 12:45 p.m. Saturday near the Lewistown barracks and shot one trooper, who was taken to a hospital with serious injuries. Authorities found the man shortly before 3 p.m. several miles away in Walker Township, and a gun battle ensued that killed the shooter and a trooper, police said.

Religious leaders call for stricter gun laws in Pennsylvania

The number of shootings, gun murders, and suicides using firearms is rising across the country.

Mass shootings are commonplace in the U.S. and although they get most of the attention, they don’t happen nearly as often as a shooting on the street or in a home. Philadelphia and other large cities are setting records for gun deaths but here in Central Pennsylvania, not a week goes by that we don’t hear of a shooting nearby.

One dead in shooting Friday night in Williamsport

Williamsport, Pa. — One person died in a shooting late Friday night at the 1100 block of W. Fourth Street in Williamsport.

Lycoming County Coroner Charles Kiessling Jr. said a 25-year-old man died at the scene.
