Central Pa. dental group practice acquired by NY company

Dynamic Growth, a group practice made up of six offices in central Pennsylvania that offer pediatric, family, and cosmetic dentistry, has been acquired by Dental365, a New York-based provider of dental care services. 

The six office locations acquired are Grove Dental Group, State Hill in Wyomissing; Grove Kids Pediatric Dentistry in Wyomissing; Theodore E. Dando, DMD Family & Cosmetic Dentistry in Hamburg; LANCO Dental Care in Lancaster; Advanced Dentistry of Centre County in State College; and Complete Family Dentistry in Wellsboro.

Agriculture Department Warns Consumers To Discard Contaminated Raw Milk Products From Conoco View Dairy Sold And Delivered In Six Central Pennsylvania Counties

The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture warns consumers to immediately discard all Conoco View Dairy raw milk sold in Cumberland, Juniata, Perry, Snyder, and York Counties, or delivered direct to homes or drop-off points in Cumberland, Dauphin, Juniata, and Perry Counties. The Department ran tests after 11 reports of campylobacteriosis illnesses in December and January and confirmed Campylobacter contamination in the dairy’s products.

While the source of the bacteria is clear, every specific production date could not be pinpointed. All products, including those in consumers’ freezers, should be discarded.

American Red Cross offering incentives to pump up blood donations

The nation’s blood supply is dropping to levels that haven’t been seen in 20 years.

“The numbers alone used to be about 3.1 million people, and as recent as 2021 merely 2.1 million people are donating blood. It’s a significant shortfall,” said Laura Burke, executive director of the American Red Cross Central Pennsylvania Chapter.

More snow is in the forecast for central Pa. See how much could fall on Friday.

Another snowstorm is heading for south-central Pennsylvania that could deliver 1 to 3 inches.

The snow is predicted to arrive late Thursday night and continue through Friday evening, said Tom Kines, AccuWeather.com meteorologist.

Travel is expected to be slippery by the afternoon and evening commute, he said.

Outdoor workers brave the frigid temperatures across central Pennsylvania

It’s another day in the life of a post office mail carrier.

While people bundled up in their homes, Michael Barley continued his normal mail route while braving the elements.

“Neither rain, nor sleet, nor dark of night,” said Barley, who works at the East York Post Office. “Every time somebody greets me, that’s the first thing they say.”

USPS will host job fairs at 6 Central PA locations later this month

Explosion, fire reported at house in Dauphin County

Fire companies from across central Pennsylvania responded to the report of an explosion and fire at a home in Swatara Township on Monday morning.

Swatara Fire Co. 91 reported being called to the fire around 10 a.m. in the 600 block of Garden Drive, which is off Chambers Hill Road.

Central Pennsylvania’s 15th annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service saw volunteers heading out to locations in the Harrisburg area to offer their time in assisting various nonprofits.

Snowy, windy and cold weather moves into central Pa.

Central Pennsylvania is under a wind advisory Saturday, a cloudy and foggy day, before snow is forecast to move in Sunday.

The National Weather Service in State College warns that dense fog is possible in some areas Saturday morning. Moist air above cold and snowy ground could lead to fog in parts of central Pa., including Dauphin, Cumberland, Perry, York and Adams counties.

Power outages affecting portions of Central Pennsylvania

Due to the windy weather, some parts of the Midstate are experiencing power outages.

According to the PPL Outage Map, over 1,000 people were without power in portions of Carlisle, Cumberland County during the afternoon hours. PPL stated that crews have been sent to the scene to make the required repairs.

Central Pennsylvania McDonald’s halting selling buffalo sauce for Steelers game

Hold the sauce — McDonald’s restaurants across Central Pa. have stopped offering buffalo sauce in anticipation of the Pittsburgh Steelers taking on the Buffalo Bills in Sunday’s Wild Card matchup.

Joe Nyanko, from Cambria County, owns 15 McDonald’s branches in Central Pa. and has made the decision to stop serving buffalo sauce in hopes of bringing good luck to the Steelers.

Chick-fil-A is opening a new store in Mechanicsburg this week. 

The fast-food chain said Chick-fil-A Shepherdstown Crossing will open Thursday at 219 Gettysburg Pike with Bill Lindoerfer as owner-operator. 

Chick-fil-A Shepherdstown Crossing will be open for dine-in, drive-thru and carry-out from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

Power outage map: Heavy rainstorm leaves thousands without power across Philadelphia area

powerful storm system moved through the Philadelphia region on Tuesday into Wednesday and knocked out power for thousands of people.

The storm pounded the Delaware Valley with heavy rain, thunderstorms and high winds with the potential for flooding. The heaviest rain and most powerful winds have moved out overnight, but it also caused headaches for travelers at Philadelphia International Airport and forced some schools to open late on Wednesday.
