Standing 5-foot-11 and weighing 207 pounds, Robert Martin III was unfazed at 18 second graders all using their “outside voices” inside the classroom.
He patiently listened to the children discuss their next activity, their voices rising in crescendo over the next minute. As they gathered their tools — pens, pencils, binders, and paper — they confirmed to Martin they knew what they were doing, and chatted about how to do it with their classmates sitting at their desks.
