Lancaster County community comes together to help people hit hard by COVID-19 pandemic

The Lancaster County community is finding some big ways to help its own right now, and we shouldn’t be surprised.

The same area known for shattering records during the Extraordinary Give is raising money and giving back again, this time for those affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Lancaster County has the most cases of coronavirus in Central Pennsylvania, with 561 cases and 16 deaths, as of Wednesday.

The number of people affected stretches much further.

“I’m not going to lie to you, we’re struggling,” said TJ Foltz, CEO of Humandkind Water in Manheim. “We’re struggling like everybody. Our sales went down about 80 percent.”

Before the pandemic, their mission was to get clean water to countries that don’t usually have it.
