Summer camp is a rite of passage for many children. Camping, swimming and outdoor play typically dominate the activities list but the five-week Summer Ballet Intensive Program at the Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet (CPYB) is much different.
Students ranging from ages 7 through 18 gathered at CPYB, one of the most recognized classical ballet schools in the world. Tucked away in a warehouse studio on the western edge of the Dickinson College campus in Carlisle, the school has been preparing dancers for the world’s top ballet companies for more than 65 years.
