Severe thunderstorms hit Pennsylvania Thursday, but the midstate was largely spared from the worst of the damage, forecasters said.
All eyes were on two tornadoes that hit the northern and eastern outskirts of Philadelphia Thursday night. At least five people were injured when the tornadoes damaged a Bucks County auto dealership, homes and other businesses, The Associated Press reported.
“I have been doing this for 34 years, I haven’t seen that sort of devastation from a storm,” said Bensalem Police Public Safety Director Fred Harran. All injuries were non-life-threatening, he said.
