Harrisburg and Steelton-Highspire were among several central Pennsylvania school districts that have some schools identified as being in need of improvement, a designation that will mean extra support from the state.
Those districts along with dozens of others from elsewhere in the state made the inaugural list of schools given that designation under Pennsylvania’s plan for complying with the federal Every Student Succeeds Act.
