After recent, much-needed rain, a noted forestry expert is a bit more positive about this year’s fall foliage display in western Pennsylvania than he was in late August.
Of course, Mother Nature always has the final say, but Marc Abrams, professor of forest ecology and physiology at Penn State University’s College of Agricultural Sciences, said, “Tell your readers that they should still be optimistic for a good display.”
Parts of the state, especially central counties, have experienced prolonged hot, dry spells this summer.
