Dog found dead in central Pa. creek had been weighed down by rock: police

A dead dog was found in a Perry County creek last week, inside a backpack weighed down with a rock, Pennsylvania State Police said.

The black backpack was found around 12:49 a.m. Oct. 6 in Shermans Creek, Carroll Township, state police said. When troopers opened the backpack, they found the body of a small black dog and a large rock.
