Coronavirus cases by day in Pa. (5/5/20): How fast is COVID-19 spreading?

The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed Tuesday there were 554 new coronavirus cases. That brings the statewide total of positive test results to 50,957.

As of Tuesday afternoon, Pennsylvania had the sixth-most confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the United States; New York had the most with 329,816 and Montana is listed as having the least reported cases (in the continental U.S.) with 457 (no change from Monday), according to Worldometer.

Locally in central Pennsylvania, the Pennsylvania Department of Health reported as of Tuesday afternoon, 382 people have tested positive in Cumberland County (only 6 more than reported on Monday); 695 in Dauphin County; 34 in Perry County (no change from Monday’s report); 716 in York County; 2,018 in Lancaster County, and 766 in Lebanon County (10 more than Monday).
