Small Business Saturday: Where to shop small in Central Pa.

PENNSYLVANIA (WHTM) — For many, Thanksgiving is about gratitude and Black Friday is about shopping. Small Business Saturday — the Saturday after Thanksgiving — combines those two ideas. It’s a day when individuals are encouraged to visit the local businesses in their communities, supporting small businesses that create jobs, boost local economies, and shape communities.

“On Saturday and throughout the holiday season, let’s patronize our small shops, restaurants, theaters, entertainment centers, and more to help support their recovery. It takes hard work, grit, and determination to bounce back from a once-in-a-generation pandemic,” U.S. Small Business Administrator Isabella Casillas Guzman said in a press release.

According to the press release from the Small Business Administration, there are more than 32.5 million small businesses in the United States, and about half of all American workers are either employed by a small business or own a small business.
