A recent blood drive at The Harbor of Shippensburg highlighted the critical importance of the community giving blood.
The Central Pennsylvania Blood Bank hosted the blood drive from the West King Street location from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 8. Their goal was to get approximately 20 or 30 people from the community to visit and donate life-saving blood.
Like many other nonprofit organizations, the Central PA Blood Bank has had to scale back their operations during the COVID-19 pandemic, even as the need for blood has risen exponentially.
As the area has entered the green phase and businesses have reopened, there is no better time than now to give blood.
