PA nursing home sees COVID-19 outbreak, spike in cases with 77, 7 deaths

The Genesis Health Care Lehigh Center Nursing Home in Lower Macungie Township has seen coronavirus cases there jump by about a third since reporting a massive outbreak.

Back on Monday, April 6, the center reported 49 residents and staff members had tested positive and that two residents had died.

On Saturday, the center reports positive cases have jumped to 77, including 51 residents and 26 staff members.

Seven residents have died.

A statement from the nursing home says it’s following all guidelines from the CDC and PA Health Department in an effort to contain and minimize the spread of the virus.
