Governor Tom Wolf, representatives from the departments of Aging, Human Services, Labor & Industry, Military and Veterans’ Affairs, and the Pennsylvania National Guard gathered at the Keystone Building in Harrisburg on Wednesday to support the 30th annual Holiday Wish program, which will send at least 900 gifts to children and seniors throughout Pennsylvania.
The families and older adults sponsored for the Holiday Wish Program were identified by a senior citizen complex serving older adults in need and caseworkers at county assistance offices across the state. Holiday Wish families request a few gifts they need or would like to receive, and state employees sponsor a family or individual to ensure they receive special gifts during the holiday season. For example, some families identified a need for clothing, shoes, toys, a Christmas tree, or even a bed.
